My client is the UK’s market leading supplier of License adult and children’s apparel, supplying character apparel to major High Street retailers and on-line companies in the UK. A vacancy has arisen for a Ladies daywear designer with character licencing experience. The company is based in the North West but will offer hybrid working for the right candidate.
You will be:
- Ensure high service levels are provided and newness in design is given.
- Proficient in Adobe Software, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
- See concept designs through to production, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure the brief is met.
- Work closely with technologists and merchandisers, to ensure products fit and find solutions to any problems in production.
- A common interest/knowledge for Licensed Properties and product.
- Researching trends, and creating mood boards for new projects and seasons ahead.
- Collaborate with other creatives in the Design team to ensure a common vision and consistent branding across the business.
- Attending customer meetings and prepare for presentations.
- Design to a brief and amend as buyer requests, display experience of liaising with buyers requests and demands.
- Creating exclusive designs, with awareness of cost and factory restrictions.
- Prepare design packs, including technical drawing and size specs.
- Thorough understanding of the current market and research of retailers to ensure handwriting is in line.
- Manage day to day work load, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure deadlines are met for samples and designs.
- Develop new products with the factories from research, requesting new fabrics and embellishments.
- Reasonable travel, including factory visits and regular comparative shopping in the UK and overseas.

My client is a fast-paced UK Retailer with big plans on the horizon, who have an exciting opportunity for a Production Admin Assistant to join the team in Birmingham.
Working closely alongside the Production Manager the successful candidate will be involved in all areas of factory production, ordering and chasing fabrics, trims, lab dips, and creating factory sample packs in addition to setting up dockets/processing repeat orders.
Critical path management experience is a must and you will be responsible for maintaining information on all systems ensuring that order data is up-to-date and accurate, both internally and externally ensuring deliveries are met whilst foreseeing any issues and dealing with them before they arise.
Your job role will also cover fabric testing, bulk approvals, sealing, bookings, and delivery date maintenance whilst keeping an eye on the costings.
In addition to supporting fabric and trim sourcing you will be mindful of MOQ, lead times and achieving required company margins, including gathering compositions, weights, COO, commodity codes etc. leading to implementation of wash care instructions and label processing.
You will be working closely with an extensive supply base maintaining positive relationships in the UK and overseas.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buying Admin Assistant to join a dynamic team. You will be responsible for providing administration support to the Buying team and ensuring that all aspects of the buying process are running smoothly and efficiently. Duties
Order Management
• Use of internal software to Input and update weekly purchase orders.
• Action any order amendments under direction of the B&M team.
Critical Path Management
• Managing critical path information with the suppliers (sending template and chasing updated information).
• Using Critical path to ensure timely delivery of stock into the Warehouse, highlighting any possible risks and reasons for delays to the B&M team on outstanding samples/approvals.
• Managing approval process, chasing suppliers for Buying samples/Outstanding approvals/fit samples, filing accordingly.
Trading Information
• Preparing weekly and seasonal analysis (Traffic light documents).
• Ensuring preparation for Trade Meeting.
• Creating and updating ‘New in’ competitive analysis.
• Creating and updating Benchmarking information.

Sample Management
• Creating and chasing sample tracker from all suppliers.

Our client is one of the UKs largest wholesale distributors of motorcycle and cycle clothing and accessories.
The Production Merchandiser manages the critical path for production, collaborating with the Product Development team, purchasing department, and suppliers to ensure on-time and cost-effective order fulfilment from placement to shipment. This role utilises reporting skills and IT systems to generate reports for stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain and manage product prices and price negotiations from Suppliers and work with the Product Development team to achieve required margins without compromising quality standards
Forecast season volumes determined by the supplier’s capacity and capability (capacity management) whilst within the SLAs and target delivery windows and have communicated this to suppliers and the leadership team
Raise and issue purchase orders with suppliers
Plan the capacity of orders placed, managing production efficient quantities across supply base, including fabric and trim bookings with suppliers and follow up as necessary to ensure capacities are met and find solutions to outstanding issues
Manage fabric and trim commitments and work with the product development team to ensure these are utilised in a timely manner
Set targets with suppliers to achieve the delivery deadline and in the right quantities
Proactively monitor the progress of all products from order placement to delivery, following the critical path
Lead meetings with all suppliers to discuss production schedules, issues, risks and solutions to avoid delays
Coordinate with suppliers for efficient transit and communicate arrival info to the leadership team for cross-function coordination
Manage stock levels to ensure DTC and BTB demands are met
Assist the Garment technologist / Quality team, Suppliers and Third parties to resolve any re-processing requirements and agree resolution
Closely manage the relationship with the Distribution and the Garment Technologist / Quality team to ensure rejected products (from the AQL process) are resolved on time and is communicated to the leadership team
Utilise and generate reports from programs on a regular basis (e.g., shipment, delivery, order lists, seasonal remaining volumes etc)
Analyse and report on sales figures to the Leadership team to identify any risk or opportunities
Proactively establish and maintain the KPIs for suppliers and delivery performance and discuss the analysis with superiors
Develop and instil solid relationships with suppliers to achieve business targets
Issue and ensure supplier contracts are kept up to date
Presenting to stakeholders and taking meeting minutes
Continually review and improve processes and operations
Requirements;
A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Production Merchandiser within the clothing industry
