A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Garment Technologist to join a well-established Childrenswear and Babywear client.
You will be:
- Check first fit/red & gold seals, where applicable, and send to customer along with necessary paperwork/specifications for approval.
- Ensure that factories are manufacturing in accordance with guidelines and provide technical support.
- Ensure all relevant testing is complete in accordance with guidelines.
- Hold weekly meetings with the technical team where any issues should be highlighted.
- Ensure that workloads remain balanced throughout the team.
- Identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility and implement improvements which have been agreed with your manager.
About you:
- QC experience of garments & fabric
- Experience of Childrenswear/Baby products
- A clothing technology related qualification
- Must be willing to travel as and when required

Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.
Acquire new business with potential future customers, further develop and retain business with existing customers.
Organise and attend new and existing customer meetings throughout the UK to maximise sales opportunities.
Develop customer account plans and strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets.
Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and gross margin targets.
Identify opportunities for open to buys and expanding product or service offerings to existing customers.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with factories and customers.
Prepare sales forecasts through GS to track progress and performance.
Raise customer orders on GS.
Lead Handover meetings with Design & Production teams.
Provide weekly updates to the Divisional Sales Director on account status, best and worst sellers, new sales, new business, cancellations and strategy to replace any lost sales.
Attend weekly sales meetings led by the Divisional Sales Director and Group Sales & Design Director,
Communicate seasonal key messages to the design team ahead of each season, including insights on best and worst sellers, high-volume lines, key licenses, and new opportunities.
Share seasonal budget plans with design counterparts to ensure alignment and clarity.
Provide the design team with timely updates on new licenses and emerging opportunities.
Represent the business at licensing trade shows alongside customers to support relationship-building and market awareness.
Collaborate on licensing decks, ensuring they are accurate and updated with relevant information ahead of license meetings.
Manage sales forecasts for licensors in partnership with the License Lead, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, contracts, and sales growth/decline activities.
Act as the primary point of contact for sales related customer enquiries & requests.
Understand customers' needs and business objectives to provide tailored solutions.

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Knitwear Designer with strong commercial awareness and a passion for product development.
This role will work closely with in-house sample unit, customers and overseas factories to develop knitwear collections from concept through to production.
You will be responsible for:

• Developing concepts, colour palettes and seasonal ranges

Your Responsibilities:
Research and identify current and emerging trends, including styles, colours, yarns, and techniques.
Lead the development of original designs, including sketches, technical drawings, and specifications.
Create seasonal collections that align with the brand's aesthetic and target market.
Select appropriate techniques for each design.
Liaise confidently with overseas offices on sampling & sourcing to meet customer deadlines
Approve final line-ups, ensuring product range aligns with customer needs and commercial objectives
Evaluate market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity to drive future design strategies and direction

5+ Years experience, preferably working on the supplier side, however not essential
Previous multi-disciplinary design experience

Strong construction knowledge with practical understanding of cost drivers and a commercial eye when selecting fabrics
Comfortable leading conversations & presenting trends to customers
Portfolio examples of tech packs / artworks
Experience liaising with overseas offices to manage sample development.
