A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Garment Technologist to join a well-established Childrenswear and Babywear client.
You will be:
- Check first fit/red & gold seals, where applicable, and send to customer along with necessary paperwork/specifications for approval.
- Ensure that factories are manufacturing in accordance with guidelines and provide technical support.
- Ensure all relevant testing is complete in accordance with guidelines.
- Hold weekly meetings with the technical team where any issues should be highlighted.
- Ensure that workloads remain balanced throughout the team.
- Identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility and implement improvements which have been agreed with your manager.
About you:
- QC experience of garments & fabric
- Experience of Childrenswear/Baby products
- A clothing technology related qualification
- Must be willing to travel as and when required

Support with producing and issuing offer letters and employee contracts
Liaising with Hiring Managers for vacancies in Head Office and in Stores
Introducing new employees to the company and walk them through the induction
To ensure all new starter paperwork is completed and relevant information provided to Payroll
To provide line manager with new starter documents to ensure a smooth on boarding process for the new employee
Responsible for the organization of Agency staff by liaising with the Agency Company and Warehouse Management
To support in administering starter/leaver processes
Organisation of HR documents in preparation for meetings (invite letters and outcome letters)
Liaise with Payroll regarding relevant employee information, for example employee absence
Respond to reference requests
Ensure electronic and paper-based personnel files are maintained and filing/archiving is completed in a timely manner
Updating of policy and the company handbook
Delivering and coaching of people policies
Payroll – As and when required
Assist Payroll Manager with the full end to end payroll process, including but not limited to;
Creation of new starters to the business, processing P45’s and new starter checklists
Calculation of Statutory Payments
Capturing and recording data from the employee time and attendance system
Pulling and exporting reports
Process timesheets in an accurate and timely manner
Preparing and completing necessary administrative tasks to ensure an accurate payroll
Understanding of RTI
Administration of the Company Auto Enrolment pension scheme
Answering pay related queries
About you:
Proven track record in a HR Generalist role.
Good working knowledge of Excel – VLOOKUP and formulas essential
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident in managing ER cases from start to finish
Strong interpersonal and communication skill
You must hold a full driving license and be able to travel across the country to support with any ER or recruitment requirements when required.
Be able to take accountability and influence matters
Show dedication and a pro-active, can do attitude and can think outside of the box
Up to date knowledge of legislation
Confident and able to work under pressure

The Role
As a Footwear Technologist, you will take ownership of the technical process from pre-production through the entire lifecycle of the product. This is a varied role combining technical expertise, customer interaction, supplier coordination and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the technical development of footwear products from concept through production.
Conducting face-to-face meetings with customers to assess risk factors, safety requirements, and testing standards.
Fitting and grading footwear styles with both customers and oversees colleagues.
Generating detailed spec packs and checklists for each order.
Liaising closely with China office to ensure products meet and exceed expectations.
Identifying and resolving issues swiftly and proactively.
Overseeing the factory audit set up and continued requirements.
Managing customers and supply chain compliance and sustainability standards.
Supporting additional tasks and projects as required.
Working with various customer web-based systems daily.
About You
Essential skills and experience:
Experience as a Footwear Technologist.
Experience working with high-street retailers and/or grocery accounts at head office level.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Liaise with suppliers to keep CP on track alongside Account Manager.
Review samples on arrival as the lead, working alongside Garment Tech, to present samples in sample review to Account Manager / Director.
Create workbooks / carry out comments at each stage and feed back to suppliers.
Liaise with customer on fabric, component and sample review and approvals.
Manage production process with supplier alongside account manager and garment tech.
