Garment Technologist - Ladieswear

They are seeking a Garment Technologist to join the team, you will play a crucial part in upholding the commitment to quality and innovation in ladies' fashion.

Key Responsibilities:
•  Take full responsibility for fit, technical standards, and quality expectations for assigned product categories, from first fit through to production.
•  Lead and participate in weekly fit sessions alongside the Buying team, offering technical advice and recommending fit improvements.
•  Measure, evaluate, and prepare fit samples; finalise specifications including grading using electronic tools.
• Clearly instruct suppliers on garment fit, construction, and quality expectations. Ensure all specs and quality standards are understood and maintained.
•  Maintain a consistent fit aligned with the customer expectations. Conduct detailed quality assessments and identify areas for improvement.
•  Raise and manage all specification sheets and ensure they align with critical path timelines.
•  Review and interpret test reports, conduct risk assessments, and approve wash care instructions.
• Work closely with the Buying team to seal styles on time. Monitor and chase all stages of the critical path to prevent delays.
• Assist with stock buy processing, manage sample storage areas, and support warehouse operations as needed.
• Oversee and maintain sample storage areas including reference sections, production samples, photoshoot samples, shipment samples, and stock buys—ensuring timely stock rotation.

Required Skills & Experience:
• Strong understanding of garment construction, patterns, and grading.
• High attention to detail with a strong eye for fit and quality.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within critical deadlines.
• Proficiency with electronic workbooks and technical specification documentation.

Develop new products with the factories from research, requesting new fabrics and embellishments. Reasonable travel, including factory visits and regular comparative shopping in the UK and overseas. Men’s Graphic Designer Manchester Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for menswear? We are looking for a talented Men’s Graphic Designer to join our clients' dynamic design team at their head office in Manchester. In this role, you will bring fresh ideas to life, shaping the visual identity of upcoming menswear collections from concept to production. The role will involve the following: Developing seasonal graphics across several in-house brands for printed t-shirts, fleece, woven shirts and Christmas character graphic knitwear (no knitwear experience required). Working to customer briefs to present relevant graphics that satisfy their style and colour direction for both UK & global contract customers. Creating technical packs for sample development and fine tuning with colourway options for production (full training will be provided). Creating style profiles for ordered styles to be raised by our merchandise department. Liaising with our offices and suppliers abroad. Requirements: Minimum of two year’s experience in a similar men’s graphic design role. Strong creative design skills with a basic understanding of garment construction. Excellent Illustrator CAD skills. AI skills would be a bonus. Strong communication skills. Commercially aware with a good eye to adapt high street trends and colour. We are seeking a junior Men’s Knitwear Designer to join their design team based at their head office in Manchester. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year industry experience of true men’s knitwear and will be required to have a flexible and conscientious approach. The role will involve the following: The focus is to work closely with the Men’s Knitwear Design Director to develop seasonal collections for priority contract customers. To also be involved in the development of stock collections across several in-house brands. Working to customer briefs to present design work that satisfies style and colour direction for both UK and global contract customers. Creating technical packs for initial sample development and fine tuning with colourway options for production. Creating profiles for ordered styles on PLMS database for orders to be raised by merchandise department. Liaising with China and Bangladesh offices, senior management, sales, garment technologists and merchandisers. Requirements: Minimum of one year experience in a similar men’s knitwear role. Strong creative design skills with a good understanding of garment construction. Excellent Illustrator CAD skills. Strong communication and experience of working with Global suppliers. Good knowledge of stitch techniques, knitting times, yarn counts and gauges. Commercially aware with a good eye to adapt high street trends and colour. Exceptionally well organised with good attention to detail. Able to work as part of a team. Shima Seiki experience would be great.

Senior Import Merchandiser

Senior Import Merchandiser Greater Manchester A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Import Merchandiser to join a well-established childrenswear client. This role requires you to have a sound knowledge and understanding of the critical path. You will be: Raising & maintaining purchase orders on the SAP system. Creating and managing the critical path. Attending internal fit meetings, with QA for each individual style, to check all PP samples, and Production samples for all details including fit, fabric cols, qualities, prints and trims. Updating and creating workbooks, for each order. Managing the critical path efficiently, by gaining approval of lab dips, bulk fabrics, knit downs, prints and trims, samples & labelling. Resolving any problems that may arise on a daily basis with suppliers. Checking all label & barcode layouts. Updating and maintaining supplier manuals. Checking and approving all invoices, and packing lists prior to shipment, and ensuring suppliers have made bookings for Freight, and approving vessel schedules will be met, and updating our shipping dept. Chasing to ensure goods are handed over on time, and meet the correct scheduled vessel. You will have: Fashion Degree or similar. At least 5 years' experience in a similar role working for a supplier. Experience managing the critical path. Competent user of Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook and Excel. Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
