About the Role

Junior Buyer

Birmingham

Rewarding, visionary and fast paced – our clients’ Buying Department are looking for a Junior Buyer to join their passionate creative team in Birmingham.

You will make effective and commercially focused buying decisions to buy product across ladieswear under the management and supervision of your Senior Buyer. As a Junior Buyer you should be highly motivated, with technical flair, excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. Ideally with 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

 

Responsibilities:

Completes all processes with reference to daily/weekly sales, as well as longer term plans.

Reporting and effectively communicate all key information in trading meeting to Buyer and Directors.

Generate ideas and suggestion to impact the business with reference to promotions and mark downs.

Provides SWOT analysis on designated categories.

Monitors and maintains stocks as per KPI’s set and manages open to buy accordingly.

Responds to competitor analysis.

Support your Senior Buyer to develop new strategies for the business and department.

Complete buying trips as and when needed.

Experience working with high-street retailers and/or grocery accounts at head office level. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual. Excellent administrative skills. A proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to work. A collaborative team player with a personable and approachable attitude. Working alongside Account Manager and Garment Tech team in City Centre Manchester. Responsibilities: Attend customer meetings to take brief alongside account manager. Liaise with customers to gather all required info for each collection. Hold development meeting with Account Manager and Garment Tech to create factory brief. Create Range Plan. Ensure all tech packs are correct / liaise with customer to gather information. Amend tech packs / add details / check details and update packs as required using Illustrator. Liaise with garment tech to create / manage / ensure all size charts are correct. Work with suppliers, trim suppliers, mills to develop samples etc. Liaise with suppliers to keep CP on track alongside Account Manager. Review samples on arrival as the lead, working alongside Garment Tech, to present samples in sample review to Account Manager / Director. Create workbooks / carry out comments at each stage and feed back to suppliers. Liaise with customer on fabric, component and sample review and approvals. Manage production process with supplier alongside account manager and garment tech. Experience required: 2-5 years minimum in similar role.

A vacancy has arisen for an Adults Nightwear Designer working on mens and ladieswear with character licencing experience. The company is based in the North West but will offer hybrid working for the right candidate. You will be: Ensure high service levels are provided and newness in design is given. Proficient in Adobe Software, including Illustrator and Photoshop. See concept designs through to production, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure the brief is met. Work closely with technologists and merchandisers, to ensure products fit and find solutions to any problems in production. A common interest/knowledge for Licensed Properties and product. Researching trends, and creating mood boards for new projects and seasons ahead. Collaborate with other creatives in the Design team to ensure a common vision and consistent branding across the business. Attending customer meetings and prepare for presentations. Creating exclusive designs, with awareness of cost and factory restrictions. Prepare design packs, including technical drawing and size specs. Thorough understanding of the current market and research of retailers to ensure handwriting is in line. Manage day to day work load, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure deadlines are met for samples and designs.
