This is an exciting opportunity for someone already established within a Merchandising function who is keen to make their mark within a relatively new Planning function. The individual will take ownership for their work, using initiative to deliver. They will work consistently at a high standard and have a keen interest in shaping how our client moves forward. Highly analytical with an eye for detail and the ability to translate data into action points in a concise manner. A commercial focus and experience of working with WSSIs is essential.

 

About the role:

The role will support the Head of Planning in providing strategic decision making across the key categories within the business. Main areas of focus; - Forward planning and trading of your areas. All driven by robust analysis and working closely with the buying teams.

Technical Requirements

  • Review previous seasons and produce analysis with supporting information.
  • Work alongside the HOP and Buyers to create the group mix strategy for the categories across all channels and stock profiles.
  • Attend Range Control and Selection meetings with the HOP and Buyers.
  • Ensure the Buy matches the signed off Buy Plan.
  • Populate the WSSIs with budget/forecast KPIs.
  • Manage availability on CORE lines - carry out periodic reviews on performance, exposure, cover etc.
  • Review trading performance on new season lines, identifying risks and opportunities whilst making recommendations for maximising sales.
  • Monitor performance on CARRY OVER lines – rebuys, more focus etc.
  • Track and highlight variance to sales plan, alongside YOY performances.
  • Analyse trial and new initiatives to provide clear insight.
  • Provide overviews/commentary on Markdown events (End of Season, Warehouse Clearance events etc).

Key Responsibilities Range Development & Product Creation Create exciting, commercially viable homewares ranges across multiple categories. Drive a mix of own-brand product development (textiles strongly preferred) and bought-in product selection. Continually research trends, themes, materials and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities. Present proposals and range builds to senior leadership for sign-off. Supplier Management & Sourcing Build and maintain strong supplier relationships globally. Lead supplier meetings — develop product, negotiate cost prices, minimum quantities and delivery dates.
