About the Role
Nightwear Designer - Adults
North West of England
This is a unique opportunity to join a thriving company, offering excellent potential to drive your career forwards. My client is the UK’s market leading supplier of Licensed adult and children’s apparel, supplying character apparel to major High Street retailers and on-line companies in the UK. A vacancy has arisen for an Adults Nightwear Designer working on mens and ladieswear with character licencing experience. The company is based in the North West but will offer hybrid working for the right candidate.
You will be:
- Ensure high service levels are provided and newness in design is given.
- Proficient in Adobe Software, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
- See concept designs through to production, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure the brief is met.
- Work closely with technologists and merchandisers, to ensure products fit and find solutions to any problems in production.
- A common interest/knowledge for Licensed Properties and product.
- Researching trends, and creating mood boards for new projects and seasons ahead.
- Collaborate with other creatives in the Design team to ensure a common vision and consistent branding across the business.
- Attending customer meetings and prepare for presentations.
- Creating exclusive designs, with awareness of cost and factory restrictions.
- Prepare design packs, including technical drawing and size specs.
- Thorough understanding of the current market and research of retailers to ensure handwriting is in line.
- Manage day to day work load, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure deadlines are met for samples and designs.
- Develop new products with the factories from research, requesting new fabrics and embellishments.
- Reasonable travel, including factory visits and regular comparative shopping in the UK and overseas.

The Role:
Working alongside account manager.

Producing range planners.
Preparing development packs for suppliers.

Producing cads and tech packs according to customer requirements.
Briefing suppliers and providing required information for sample development, bulk production packs.
Follow sample process and liaise with suppliers.
Review samples on arrival with garment tech team and account manager, presenting samples and comments to customers / supplier.
Working alongside account manager to keep critical path flowing.
Inhouse License Brand:
Taking the lead on design and development on multi product brand.
Create seasonal direction.
Liaise with director and account manager to create collection structure / option count.
Lead the design and development process from concept to final tech packs.
Liaise with tech team on specs.
Liaise with Account Manager to create range plan, brief collection and liaise with supply base.
Carry out approvals / comments with team, taking the lead.
Creating sales books / look books.
Involvement in direction of seasonal campaign shoots and social media alongside marketing team.

Our client, a dynamic company, is seeking a Senior Merchandiser / Account Manager to join their team based in Central Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in Merchandising and Account Management to play a key role within a close-knit company. Key Responsibilities:
A pivotal role for a key team member who oversees the Merchandising side of the business.
One junior to oversee and 2 seniors to work alongside.
Working with a team of 5 designers, 2 garment techs, two senior merch and one junior merch as the wider team, outside of logistics / finance etc.
Reporting to the directors.
To nurture and manage various customer accounts from concept to delivery.
Engage with customers to hold regular meetings, take seasonal briefs and maintain / grow current business.
Work with design and tech team to create concept to be presented to customers.
Oversee production of collection and brief out to supply base in conjunction with design and tech teams, while controlling CP for seasonal development.
Negotiate prices with suppliers.
Monitor and manage sample trackers / sample development leadtimes.
Present collections to customers in conjunction with directors / design team.
Place POs and manage Order Summary.
Maintain and manage CP with regular communication with suppliers and customers on a weekly basis.
Carry out product review meetings with directors, design and tech teams on a daily / weekly basis.
Ensure goods are made to required standards alongside tech team with regards to factory audits, compliance, product testing, AQL reports etc.
Working with logistics team to ensure packing lists, shipping schedules, product approvals are in place and correct.
Nurturing and managing supply base to balance production volumes and brands between supply base to maximise efficiency and skill across supply base.
Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as a Merchandiser/Account Manager within the apparel sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
