Our client is a home textiles company with over 100 years of service, the business has built strong relationships with many of the UK’s leading home furnishing retailers, independents, mail order and e-commerce companies, working with them to create and deliver market leading designs that go on to become best-selling collections. 

With a passion for design, a focus on innovation and commitment to providing high quality products, they have set the standard in readymade curtains, bedding, cushions, accessories and kitchen textiles in the home furnishings market. 

 

The Role

You will be required to undertake a wide range of product quality inspections as well as office-based administration functions to ensure compliance with customer and delivery requirements.

The successful candidate will form part of a small internal team dealing with a wide range of quality issues as well as communicating directly with overseas factories and internal stakeholders.

  • Investigate quality issues reported to the business.
  • Perform hands on detailed quality inspection of various products and raising of inspection reports.
  • Completion of Quality Inspection log and reporting progress of inspections and planned actions to internal stakeholders.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non- compliant goods / deliveries, where necessary arrange rectification or disposal and arrange claims with overseas suppliers.
  • Completion and issue of product specification information
  • Approval of compliance documentation received from factories, ensuring they meet the requirements of delivery requirements.

 

Skills and experience

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure, to prioritise own workload.
  • Good communication skills to correspond with internal and externals stakeholders efficiently and clearly.
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience in the homewares or apparel industry a bonus

Ensure consistent product quality, sizing, fabric and colour standards are achieved across own brand product types, working closely with other departments to achieve consistency across the whole product offer. Requirements: A natural leader who inspires and motivates with previous technical management experience. Significant experience in apparel fields with a thorough knowledge of production processes. Be able to proactively identify and analyse problems to propose commercial solutions. Be a decisive and committed decision maker. Able to liaise with senior management, sales, design, and merchandise teams to ensure efficiency across the business. Have market awareness of competition. Strong communication skills to liaise with Global suppliers. Able to give technical advice on quality and fabric bases, both knitted and woven. Be commercially aware. Exceptionally well organised with good attention to detail. Good level of computer skills and general systems literacy including excel and have experience of a data base such as PLMS. Have a flexible and proactive approach. Able to be hands on to work as part of a team to ease workloads when required. The role may involve some travel. Education at degree level or time proven work experience.

Develop new products with the factories from research, requesting new fabrics and embellishments. Reasonable travel, including factory visits and regular comparative shopping in the UK and overseas.
